The urban gardening movement is really gaining ground and Northeast Minneapolis is contributing via community gardens and private gardens. The Northeast Cultural Gardens stems from an interest in beautifying underused urban landscapes, such as front yards (especially the small ones), boulevards (the green space between the sidewalk and the street), vacant public land, and others. A cultural garden is an inspiring and delightful urban landscape visible from the street that can include art, food, and/or flora.
Let’s pledge to reduce the amount of grass (in spaces not used to play in) by planting something beautiful. Let’s promote environmental stewardship and build community through this avant-yard movement.
This website serves as a resource for your gardening questions. It also proudly displays cultural gardens in our gallery.
